have been investigating the impacts of adding chemicals to the water supply near the Bi o Bio River which runs adjacent to their town in the southern part of Chile. Students plan to share their results with city leaders.

, Pakistan are combining environmental and social stewardship by greening and renovating a courtyard at a nearby underfunded school. Students are transforming the area by planting vegetation, installing appropriate water filtration, and teaching younger students about environmental stewardship.

Global Ecology Program at Poolesville High School
take on year-long environmental projects as small groups or individuals. Project topics cover a wide range, from restoring grasses in the Chesapeake Bay to reporting environmental issues in the local paper.
