Registration

World Wide Waldens, group leaders and teachers will register directly with the Walden Woods Project staff.
THE UNITS
Complete your project using the following steps.
Get Started

This first step gives an overview of the project, an introduction to Henry David Thoreau, as well as explores the concepts of environmental ethic and stewardship.
Find Your Walden

The second step guides you through identifying a local environmental project, while paralleling your efforts with those of Thoreau.  Don't miss the virtual tour of Walden Pond.
Take Action

The third step helps you organize as you complete and document your environmental stewardship project.
Create Your Story

The fourth step provides you with user-friendly tools to create a webpage showcasing your project.  Your webpage will inform and inspire other groups around the world to find their own Waldens.
Share Your Story

The last step connects your group to others.  You will have the opportunity to view all the webpages created  by the other participants.  In addition, you are invited to the first Walden Web Summit, a live video conference, to be held in May 2008.
UNIT ACTIVITIES
The following resources will help you learn about Thoreau, answer questions, and provide examples.
Henry's Journal

Henry's Journal answers key questions about Thoreau and provides writings drawing from his books, essays, and personal journals.  Each unit offers a variety of journal prompts for reflection.
Ask An Expert

In each unit, you have the opportunity to submit questions to experts in varied fields who will help you as you work through your project.
