Singer, songwriter and environmentalist Erica Wheeler joined Walden Youth Summit participants on the evening of May 18, 2011 for an entertaining and meaningful reflection and sense of place writing experience. Erica's songs, music, and stories helped participants explore the unique places that have shaped their environmental ethic and inspired them to take action.

About the Summits
For the past two years, student leaders from New England who have demonstrated their passion for the environment have converged by the shores of Walden Pond. Students from Costa Rica, China, Haiti, New Zealand, Kenya, Panama, and Uganda  joined by Skype. This year, for 2012, we're working to bring a group of Chinese students to Walden.

Authentic Walden Experience 
Walden Pond, Lincoln, MA

25 students from area schools came to Lincoln for a 36-hour period. They toured Walden Pond, met other green activists, stayed overnight at a retreat center, and participated in other learning and leadership activities.

The onsite team joined students in other countries via web calls to discuss environmental issues, choices they face, and how they are responding.
